Interview with STEAMED blog!

I have to say this is my favorite interview that I have done! Author Maeve Alpin does a fabulous job of setting the stage and makes the interview very entertaining, more like a story! You can find the interview here: http://ageofsteam.wordpress.com/2013/01/01/steampunk-dolls-battle-soul-suckers-artist-michele-lynch-by-maeve-alpin/#comment-7299 and if you like steampunk fiction be sure to check out her books, as well as the other Lolita’s of steamed!

Rose Red & Snow White

Rose Red & Snow White-from the brother's Grimm's Fairy Tales-
A poor widow once lived with her two children in a lonely little cottage. In the garden grew two rose-bushes, one red and the other white, and because the children resembled the roses they bore, she named one Snow-White, and the other Red-Rose.
The children loved each other dearly, and whenever they went out, would walk hand in hand. If one said: "We will never leave each other," the other would reply: "Never, so long as we live," and the mother always said that what one had was divided with the other.
They are 11 1/2" tall x 5" wide x 5" deep. They were hand sculpted from epoxy over an armature. The skirt base is metal. There is a vintage clock gear at the bottom of their skirt. Their hair is natural white & black mohair. I hand painted them in layers and sealed them with a matte finish.
They are available in my etsy shop for now: https://www.etsy.com/listing/118232238/steampunk-conjoined-twins-art-doll-rose
Thanks so much for dropping by and having a peek! xo Michele

Fairy Tales

Just finished Sleeping Beauty, she's an 8 x 10" part sculpted, part acrylic painting. She has black roses, pearls, skulls and vintage watch gears entwined in her hair. Her eye lashes are also vintage clock gears. The leaves on the ground are from a vintage Mother Goose book.
In the locket on her forehead, is a tiny canvas painting of her true love the prince.
She is available in my etsy shop!  http://www.etsy.com/shop/michelelynchart

I also finished Snow White, which is sold already.

If I don't get back this way- Happy Turkey Day everyone!! xo Michele

Red

Thought I'd share the first painting I did in a series of fairy tale paintings I'm doing. Meet, Red, 8 x 8" sculpted in epoxy, acrylic on wood. The trees are pages from a very old Mother Goose book. She's sold. I cant' believe how quickly the holidays are approaching! I always think I'll be ready and I never am! I'm still mourning the loss of summer! xo Michele
