New Steampunk!

Woo Hoo tonight I added what should be the last of the auctions till after Christmas. I added 3 new pieces of steampunk on 5 day auctions or there is also a buy it now option, which seems to be working for a lot of people. Shipping is still free! Priority within the United States so there is still plenty of time and First class mail internationally. The post office said usually 7 days for international but that with Christmas it could be a couple more days so we are very close there. I'm posting a picture of one of the pieces, you can see the other two and more of this one at http://stores.ebay.com/Michele-Lynch-Art Oh and I redid my website, I'm not a webdesigner by any means! It needs some tweaking and I'm hoping that Jaimi will teach me a trick or two (she did my website when it was pop art and it looked wonderful!)If anyone wants a website professionally done, email me and I'll get you in touch with Jaimi. If you want to take a peek at what I've done so far, the link is www.michelelynchart.com

Tuesday ;o)

I'm not sure where time goes? well not entirely true, I do, I'm always working on jewelry or paintings and don't take the time to post here! I also joined the gym and so the time that I might be on the computer is now spent there! I've listed a few pieces of steampunk on ebay, and also a few on etsy! I'm trying etsy out again, I'll switch them over to ebay if they don't sell this week. Etsy seems to take patience and that is not one of my virtues lol! Tonight on ebay I'm listing a geisha girl! I really like how she turned out! Let me know what you guys think! xo Michele

Queen Of Denial

That title sounds like me, lol. Actually I wanted to show you all the pendant that I'm listing on etsy. There are more pictures of her on etsy. I'm going to start listing some things on etsy that I've not listed on ebay, the advantage to etsy is that you don't have to bid for those of you who don't like it! and for those who have not bought anything from etsy before, it's so easy I promise you! You can use your paypal just like on ebay! If you have any questions or need help just drop me an email at MDL65@aol.com. Hope you like my Egyptian lady :o) You can find her here at http://michelelynchart.etsy.com xo Michele

Steampunk

The air has finally turned chilly and the wind and rain are tearing the beautifully colored leaves from the trees, creating giant mounts of color on the grass. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not ready for winter! The older I get the more I do not like the cold! No wonder so many retirees move to Florida! I'm there with them!!

I've added some new items to ebay, they are steampunk inspired. As most of you know I love mixed media and steampunk fits right into that! Steampunk is a term used to describe a very trendy and fun style, you can find it on everything from clothes to of course jewelry. It's kinda a mish-mash of victorian meets inventor, industrial, and time travel. Very cool items!

This little steam punk angel started with a face that I painted on glass, she is painted with the same paints I do my full glass pendants with. She's painted and then allowed to cure 24 hours and then low fired again. Each little face is different! The watch parts you see are from a vintage Elgins watch, you can still see 4 of the rubbies if you look close. She has tiny crystals on her halo, and on the bottom of her. Part of the background is filigree that is backed with metal that was cut to fit her. I engraved my name on the back. Also you will notice that she is both a pendant and a brooch, I attached a pin back so you have a choice of how to wear her. She would be stunning with any outfit, I've added a simple silver colored chain (18") or you can replace it with your own. She would also look awesome on a jacket, just remove the chain!

I'm going to try a few on ebay and on etsy to see where they sell the best. Oh and speaking of selling, I've decided to raise the price of my glass pendants on ebay to 24.99. I've wrestled with this for quite some time and it's just time. I want everyone who wants one to be able to afford them but at the same time I have to pay the bills lol. So I think 24.99 fits for both of those ;o) Hope you enjoy the steampunk angel! I'd love to hear what you all think! She's on ebay along with her fairy friend! http://stores.ebay.com/Michele-Lynch-Art

New Video- Mermaid!!

Okay as promised here is the new mermaid video. Boy, this one was tough, tons and tons of footage to edit down to close to 6 minutes, not easy!! I tried to show as many steps as I could. I still left out the beeswax that I sealed her in at the end and adding the little button. I meant to go back and add that to the video and I forgot lol, blame it on my age. I also thought I wasn't actually in the video until I saw it lol, so you get to see me the way I normally am painting...no makeup LOL. Hope you enjoy the video! I listed the painting on ebay tonight, you can find her here:
http://stores.ebay.com/Michele-Lynch-Art

Here's the video!

Our Path

Well I meant to post again last week, really I did! Not sure where time goes! Here is the newest painting that I posted last night on ebay it's titled "Our Path" I totally meant to add some trees and a bush on there and a stick coming out of her hair lol, the painting has to do with our path in life and how we sometimes get sidetracked on a different path or totally lost in the woods with sticks in our hair and mud on our faces, lol, and even sometimes we can't get on the right path because of a roadblock of our own doing, but what I'm finally figuring out is it's not the destination, it's the journey, even if you are still fighting through the brush in the woods LOL. You are learning and growing and moving towards your path. Hope everyone enjoys the painting.

I used copies of old maps in the background, a vintage music sheet, lots of acrylic, ink, pencil, etc.. You can find her on ebay this week at :
http://stores.ebay.com/Michele-Lynch-Art oh and did I mention Free Shipping!! Wooo Hooo!! I'm working on another video, should have it done soon :o) xo Michele

Life Is What We Make It

Sometimes it seems like life is coming at you from all directions and your like that little hamster on the metal wheel, running and running but getting no where! But it's not the destination really, it's the journey that we should enjoy. This painting was inspired by my feelings on a poem that I found in an old book: Life Is What We Make It.

The background has an add from 1911 from Macys, there is sheet music in the bottom left from around the same time. And her wings and text are from the vintage book that had the poem in it that inspired the painting.

Original is on sale on ebay this week (starts tonight) at http://stores.ebay.com/michele-lynch-art
Or you can find prints on etsy at: http://michelelynchart.etsy.com
Happy wednesday everyone!! xo Michele

October

October has to be one of my favorite months. There is nothing like being able to open all the windows and feel the gentle cool breeze of autumn. The colors of the trees that change from summers green to shades of red, yellow, and orange. And of course mums in every shade! You always know fall is on the way when you see the mums bloom.

I added a breast cancer awareness pendant to ebay and am donating half of the ending auction price to the American Breast Cancer Foundation. Last year I did a painting for the cause and enjoyed it so much I wanted to do it again this year. You can find her on ebay this week at http://stored.ebay.com/michele-lynch-art
I also started experimenting more with mixed media jewelry, which I love! Here's my latest, also available on ebay tonight. The base of the pendant is an ivory colored domino, the sailor suit started as a photo of my grandpa in his navy uniform, which I colored in with assorted pencils, the kitty face was painted in with acrylics, there's some brads, rivits, washers and a seashell charm all on there too. Comes with the ball and chain necklace that goes through the side of the domino. This was tons of fun to create!

Hope everyone had a good monday! xo Michele

Acceptance

I've had quite a few discussions with friends lately about always seeking that acceptance that seems out of reach, and it seems what we are seeking acceptance on is different for us all, rather it's acceptance of your work, your parents love, your spouse's approval, whatever it is, only the fact that it seems elusive to us is the same. But then there comes a time where you have to look deep into your spirit and accept yourself...all the things you are seeking acceptance on, and accept your spirit yourself and let it free. That's the meaning of this painting for me, stop seeking and find it in yourself. I hope for all of you reading this that you find that acceptance within your own spirit. Celebrate who you are, not who others want you to be!

I used acrylic, oil paints, charcoal, assorted papers and her wings are gold leaf on this painting. The words on the painting say Finding, Seeking, Acceptance.

Have a great thursday! I know I'm posting this late lol, I'm still running behind! I hope to catch up soon and I still have that video to post! xo Michele

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

Okay I don't know what my deal is with Mondays, but it must not be the day for me to blog!! I spent the weekend finishing up painting my son's old room, and organizing the new studio. I doubt it will ever be that clean again! It's so organized I can't remember where I put everything! Seriously, it is such a wonderful feeling to enter the room that is bright and fresh and everything has a place, no more digging trying to find that scrapbook paper that I just had out! I feel much more creative in that space! I've been working on lots of the fused glass pendants with witches, skellies, pumkin heads, and ghosts. Gotta love Halloween! Also I'm working on some mixed media type of pins. Hopefully I'll have a picture to post soon. Also more mixed media paintings! You can see all the glass pendants here: http://stores.ebay.com/michele-lynch-art I'll post a picture of the studio so far. The ceramic masks that are one the wall were made by my sons at school (10 years apart lol). Notice the ancient video camera? Yup I filmed another glass pendant video now I just have to edit and upload and all that jazz. I'm hoping to get it done soon! xo Michele

Time Flies!

Again, I don't know where this week went! I meant to post on Monday, then again on Wednesday and remembered once I was in bed lol! I've had a lot going on, I helped my oldest son move into an apartment last Saturday. By Sunday I was a blubbering ball of tears! I never thought it would hit me so hard. I'm very happy for him that he has an apartment and all of that but suddenly I missed my baby! (okay so he's almost 21 lol) and he lives very close lol. I'm including a picture of him (that's his girlfriend Desi also in the picture) with the UHaul truck! I decided rather than walk by his empty bedroom every day that I would turn that into my new studio :o) So the painting, cleaning began! Now if I could only get some new flooring in there it would be perfect! This weekend I'll start the daunting task of moving all my masses of stuff over to that room. Boy where did all this stuff come from?? LOL!

I've listed a bunch of pendants this week! Lots of witches for the upcoming Halloween or just because I'm feeling witchy! I'm also painting an adorable little witch trying to pick out her favorite kitty...she'll be listed this weekend! Everyone have a safe and happy weekend!! xo Michele

Okay I'm not sure what happened to Monday, I just totally spaced and forgot to post! I've been trying to post monday, wednesday and friday. Well it was a boring monday anyway lol. I did get the paper mache doll bust on ebay though, along with listing some notecards. I'll try to get some more notecards up soon. I also was able to get 3 new pendants listed tonight and I have 3 more for tomorrow night! Wooo Hoooo! The pendants I listed tonight are a witch with her friends mr JOL and kitty. They've blown past Mr. Moon and scared him! who knew? I also did a Frida Kahlo pendant with her day of the dead earrings on! and last but not least I did a folk art girl with sunflowers! If you get a chance take a peek at them!
http://stores.ebay.com/michele-lynch-art

The weather is so much cooler here already, fall is in the air no doubt about it. The evenings here are just beautiful sitting on the deck with the cool air watching the sun disappear behind the horizon. My kind of boring monday lol!

Okay so on Wed I was having one of those days, lol, it seemed to spill into Thurs and then today things seems to finally be catching up...I finally am not just spinning my wheels! One of THOSE days!

Don't you just love those days when no matter what you try to do something happens? I spent my evening listing auctions on ebay and for some reason auctiva did not hold the new pictures I put in the template when I uploaded it to ebay, so I revised it through ebay. Nope still the old pics. I did it again...nope still the old pics...by then there was a bid on one of the ones I was fixing so now ebay won't let me revise it at all, it was just one of those nights! I finally had to cancel the listing and relist it! I feel sooo bad for the bidder!! I got the other listing revised finally too :o) Anyway! I'm happy to say on this no good, bad, terrible wednesday that I did manage to list 3 new fused glass pendants!! Woooo Hoooo! Look for 3 more tomorrow night (the gremlins willing!). Here's a peek at one of them, you can find more pics of all three in my ebay store: http://stores.ebay.com/michele-lynch-art or ebay seller id: Michelelynchdesigns Hope everyone has a great rest of the night!! xo Michele

Etsy Update!

Oops! I totally forgot that yesterday was Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful 3 day weekend! I spent it working around here. We finally got the kitchen painted! So now except for new lighting and painting the ceiling it's done!! Wooo Hoooo! We also spent the weekend shoveling 10 cubic yards of dirt to fill a hole where we took out a pool. I hurt in spots that I didn't know could hurt! The other thing I got done was to update my etsy shop!! FINALLY!!! Let's here another Wooo Hooo!!! So if you get a chance take a peek:
http://michelelynchart.etsy.com Flower Fran is one of the items you'll find on there!! Those of you who have been with me forever, know I used to do paper mache figures and I love it! I can't stay in one medium and I have to say I've finally decided to listen to my heart and create what I need to create and not try to follow some silly rules. So I will be listing more paper mache again soon. I created Flower Fran in 2004 and she has lived with me ever since, she is the only piece I ever kept and she makes me smile every day! But I've decided it's time for her to share her grin with someone new, so I listed her on etsy. Hope someone will give her a new home with lots of love! New fused glass pendants will be listed tomorrow in my ebay store. Wooo hoooo!!!

Where Did Summer Go?

Okay so this is a really big weekend right? Well never for my family lol. But lots of people load up the boat or camper and take off for the weekend! We're going to stay around the homestead, maybe go to the Pool, and visit Grants Farm which is always a fun. This weekend always makes me sad, because it's the last weekend for the pools to be open and to me that signifys that summer is coming to an end. I am sooo not a winter person! I love fall, but then couldn't we just skip straight to spring? I mean I wouldn't object, really, I wouldn't. Maybe it's time I consider moving to a state that stays warmer all year! Anyway I hope you all stay safe this weekend whatever your plans are!

Yesterday I listed a sweet little new mermaid painting on ebay she's 5 x 5 with extra thick gallery sides so she can hang or sit on a shelf. Titled "Cherish". Hope you all like her! xo Michele

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Woooo Hoooo I finally got the video to load!! I think I was being impatient! Because I finally left it loading and went to bed and when I woke up it was loaded lol! So anyway, it's certainly not the best video, I learned a lot while making it, but it's my first :o) so hopefully they will get better from here! Hope you all enjoy a peek at how I make the glass pendants! xo Michele

Looking Ahead

Looking Ahead is one of the glass pendants that I painted this week for ebay. She is another piece of art that came about because of the recent things going on in my life. I'm trying to only look forward never back, because even yesterday is not something we can change, we can only affect tomorrow and how we choose to spend it. Hope you all like the two new pendants I'm listing on ebay tonight. I love hearing comments! xo Michele

Take Time To Smell The Roses

It's funny that just recently I did a post about being a worka a holic and how much I loved what I did etc, it took having a doctor find nodules in my right lung for me to think...Uh oh...maybe I had better slow down a bit and enjoy the world around me a little more. So that's how this little mermaid artwork came about. We recently took a trip to Florida where the internet signal was not the best in the condo and I took no brushes, canvas, etc...with me, so I sat on the beach and slowly learned to relax, that it was okay to take in the fresh salt water air, to listen to the waves rolling over the beach, it was okay to do nothing but watch the seagulls fight for a cheeto my son had thrown to a group of them. I learned to just enjoy the moment.

Hope you all enjoy her as much as I did creating her. She is mixed media: acrylic, watercolor, scrapbook paper, and german glass glitter. Lemme know what you all think! You can see more pictures of her on ebay where she is listed for auction:
http://stores.ebay.com/Michele-Lynch-Art

I'm trying to get up to speed with the blogging here soon! xo Michele

Catch Up

Okay I'm going to try to play catch up here! Things slowed down for me for a bit because first I got sick with pneumonia and then pleurisy--not a fun time there! But what happened was they saw some "nodules" as they call them on my xrays so now I've spent since the end of June having more xrays, a cat scan and now next week a Pet scan. I'm still thinking it's nothing but it's enough to scare me into not smoking! So now I've become the doughnut queen. Hmmm...we'll have to have a discussion about favorite doughnuts LOL!

So anyway, then I left to go on vacation at the end of July until this past weekend. We were in Panama City Florida this year which was nice, I do have to confess that Destin is still my favorite though. The picture of the hammerhead shark was taken from the 6th floor balcony of the condo we rented for the time we were there...I thought it was a kids floatie for a minute LOL! Uh nope, that's the real deal...right up by the shore! The other pics are of my husband and me and then one of my kids. It looks like Zach the younger one is crying in the picture, lol, but he's actually just laughing that hard!

I listed a couple of pendants on ebay yesterday, and there are several more that I'll be listing tonight. I also have several paintings that will be listed here soon! Woo Hooo I'm back on a roll! Email anytime, you know I love hearing from you all! xo Michele

Been Awhile!

Okay, I knew I might not post all the time, but I didn't figure it would be that long! So sorry! I got really sick with pneumonia, then pleurisy, not a good time! I've finally started painting some pendants again and I'm all caught up on commissions :o) Wooo Hooooo! Here's the latest pendant that I listed on ebay last night! Hope all is well with all of you. Email anytime! xo Michele

Can you say...Work-a-holic lol

Recently someone asked me how I get so many pendants done in a week...it made me stop and think for a second...the only answer I had was I work A LOT! I'm a task master as my friend calls me, relentless lol. I have a goal set and I know that I want to get say 3 done a day, so that's what I do! I work a minimum of 8 hours a day, usually more. Because it's not just the painting that you have to do, but also the fusing, the packaging, the listing, etc...But the other part of it is I get obsessed lol! I love to paint. Truly I would rather paint than do anything else! Not a day goes by that I don't paint. Painting is who my soul is. So, yes, I'm a work a holic no doubt about it, but when you love the work you do, it's kind of cheating isn't it? LOL!

Here's a sneak peek at the pendants that will be listed on ebay tonight. Hope all the dads out there are having a great day! xo Michele

Improving

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I've been trying some different techniques with the pendants, adding more depth to them, which isn't easy considering their size! But I think it's important to always be improving and trying new things. Hopefully you all can see the difference! (check out ebay for more examples of pendants) Also I played around with some precious metal clay and polymer clay lately adding some accents to the pendants, just something fun and different! Contact me with any comments or questions, I love hearing from everyone! Michele

Getting Started

Well I've held off on the blog thing for as long as I could lol. I never was good at keeping up on even a diary as a kid! But I think this will be the easiest way for me to update my website and keep you all in the know lol. The website is going to be revamped a bit so that it showcases the fused glass pendants as well as the canvas work. I love jewelry! (okay what woman doesn't?) and the pendants allow me to combine both of my loves, painting and the jewelry part! Here are the latest fused glass pendants that will be on ebay tonight, you can see more detailed pictures here: http://stores.ebay.com/Michele-Lynch-Art
I also want to say thank you to all my collectors that have been with me for years and to the new ones-You all are the best!! xo Michele
