Sorrow

I painted this angel on a 12 x 12" piece of birch with 1/2" sides that I painted black. I used assorted paints and inks to complete her and vintage bible text. I feel a deep emotional connection to her, I hope you all can feel it as well. She'll be available on ebay tonight at 8 pm central time. Hope everyone had a great weekend! xo Michele

Grow In Wisdom & Grace

Okay so here's the angel I promised last night ;o) I'm surprised I didn't paint her with red rimmed eyes and a runny nose LOL. She's titled Grow In Wisdom & Grace and it's written on the heart that she holds. She's on a piece of birch that measures 12 x 24" and is a 1/2" thick. There's a hanger attached to the back. I used assorted papers, including vintage text from a french textbook, assorted paints, inks and charcoal. She'll be on ebay tonight at 8 pm central time. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes :o) I'm not feeling as sleepy today, so that's a good sign! xo Michele

Temptation

Recently for whatever reason I have really been fighting temptation to buy things I don't really need, and my other temptation is CAKE! I don't care if it's cupcakes, doughnuts, pie LOL you get the drift I so love my cake!! So anyway that's what inspired this little temptation angel! She has been sitting on my shoulder recently! She is smaller a 6 x 12" box canvas. I used real type writer keys on her again, as well as some paper ones that are made to look like the keys. Assorted paints and papers. She will be available on ebay tonight at 8 pm central time. Lemme know what your temptation is LOL!xo Michele

Love They Neighbor

I had started this painting some time ago, and then this weekend when I talked with my son's friends dad it inspired me to finish Love Thy Neighbor, even if that neighbor is another country! I know so many of us dream of a world full of peace and love. My youngest has always wanted to go into the military and as a mom I'm praying that by the time he reaches the age that the world is a different place. Hope you all enjoy the painting, let me know what you think! It's pretty big! 12 x 36" Would look awesome over a doorway! It will be on ebay tonight at 8 pm central time, with lots more picture ;o) xo Michele

Monday, March 16, 2009

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was full, as always! My youngest son's bestfriend's dad came home after being gone 9 months with the reserves by Iraq, so there was a huge homecoming for him :o) He was amazed at how much he says we all have changed in that time, especially his youngest boy. He worked with military people from all different countries and was talking about their perception of Americans, and no we're not all like the people in the movies LOL. But interestingly he said that's what most expected. I thought the internet has shrunk perceptions that people have of other countries but perhaps we still have a ways to go ;o) The angel I have for auction tonight on ebay is on a 8 x 10" canvas panel that I framed in a vintage wood frame. The frame its self is 10 3/4 x 12 7/8" a very pretty antique gold color that sets off the angel nicely! I used assorted paints & papers to create her. Oh and even some stitching on her dress. Her wings are from a vintage french text book. She'll be on ebay tonight at 8 pm central time. Let me know what you all think!xo Michele

Watching Over Us

Hope everyone is having a good week :o)) The weather here in close to 70 and we are all getting spring fever! I'm so ready for winter to be over! It also seems I've been doing a lot of the hamster running on the little metal wheel this week LOL. But I did manage to get another painting done! She's bigger 24 x 30"! I used acrylics, charcoal, and watercolors on her. I'm putting her up on ebay tonight, and there will be more pictures on there including some close ups of her face and the little town she is holding in her arms. Dream

Reach for the stars and dream! I've been thinking a lot lately about what is possible and what isn't and who say's something isn't possible? So that's how this painting came out. The letters in the top stars are vintage typewriter keys! I used acryic, charcoal, watercolor and mica powders also on her. She's on a 10 x 30" box canvas and was a total pain to take a picture of LOL. I think it's the dark background and the white dress that kept throwing the camera off! The pictures don't do her justice! She'll be available tonight on ebay at 8 pm central time.

Mother's Love

Well I survived all the birthday parties from this weekend! We had my son's friends birthday part at Brunswick...they have a really cool laser tag area there so all the kids had a blast running around playing laser tag, eating pizza, playing in the huge arcade that they have there. Then the family birthday party was also fun :o) It was a great weekend! I didn't have much time for artwork though...I did manage to get this one done this past week though...I had been thinking of my own mom who died when I was young and the unconditional love of us mothers...so that's how this painting came about. Let me know what you all think :o)) Hope everyone had a great weekend! xo Michele
