Sorrow
I painted this angel on a 12 x 12" piece of birch with 1/2" sides that I painted black. I used assorted paints and inks to complete her and vintage bible text. I feel a deep emotional connection to her, I hope you all can feel it as well. She'll be available on ebay tonight at 8 pm central time. Hope everyone had a great weekend! xo Michele

Thank you Mystele! LOL no worries on the name ;o) happens all the time! xo Michele
man... that's really poignant... those eyes tell many stories... and you know what, the aged prints on her wings, just adds to the atmosphere... like ... i dunno, things, events & people long gone, regrets and "if onlys"... wow...it's affecting me quite a bit...
P/s... man... is that the bible there?
GORGEOUS. I really love your work, Michele...your angels are so amazing!
BTW - are you a full time artist? (my apologies if this is a lame question - I may have missed this along the way, but I'm pretty new at this blogging thing). I am just wondering, because it seems like you crank out SO many paintings in such a short amount of time. How long does it usually take you to complete a piece this big, from start to finish???
Have a wonderful week!

You nailed it Luthien, I was feeling all of that when I painted her and felt such a deep sadness. Yes! The text is from a vintage bible :o) xo Michele
Thank you Angie! No question is lame :o) No worries, ever. Yes, I paint full time. I also don't have little ones, my youngest is in school full time so that gives me all day to paint. It depends on the size of the paintings on how long they take me and if it's fighting me LOL. If everything comes together just right like this one did I can finish her in a day. Some take me a couple days. But I'm pretty intense, once I start I don't stop. I usually don't even eat lunch if I'm really into a painting. Time just slips by me. xo Michele
