Here's the last piece going to Spooky Time Jingles Soiree! I'm not able to go this year, but I'll be there in spirit ;o) Edgar is 12" tall, his robe is black velvet and he has a clock as the clasp for his robe. Sam's seeds are shaking, thinking Edgar might eat him! He has a vintage pin for his stem and leaf.
Hope everyone is having a good week! I'm off to get my hands back in the clay, finishing up another secret project ;o) lol. It's only secret cuz it's a birthday surprise! xo Michele
Meet Zoey, half bunny, half steampunk soul. Zoey never wanted to be a pirate, but it's what her family did. That is until the Evil Soul Sucker invaded. Her brother snuck her off the ship late one night, firmly planting the helmet on her head and the gun in her waistband. Zoey hasn't seen her family since. She's joining the rebellion in hopes to see the pirate ship again, she hates to admit it but she misses it.
Zoey is 14" tall x 4" wide x 2 1/2" deep. She is hand sculpted from paper clay over an armature. Her arms and legs are slightly poseable. The parts of her that are bunny are white flocking. She is hand painted in layers, then sealed with a matte finish. She has a watch part for her right eye, and a vintage enameled watch face on her chest. Her clothes are hand stitched and not removable. Her helmet is made of a vintage watch tin, wind up part of a watch, a found chain, and is not removable. The steampunk gun is removable. She is titled, signed and dated.
I started off trying to make a smaller doll that would be more affordable in our current times, but even though she's a wee bit smaller she took me every bit of 3 full days to complete. I did lower her price a bit from the other dolls to help buyers out for now. I think she's one of my favorites so far ;o) I don't know if I got the obsession from the Alice doll I did, or I saw these cute bunny paintings on etsy by
remove or if it was the dolls on the cover of Art Doll Quarterly last month by Sheri DeBow, whatever it was I was obsessed with making a bunny girl and she wouldn't rest until she was made!
Of course originally I had her sketched out in more of an armor type of outfit, and she just wasn't having it, she's a victorian lady...er...bunny pirate all the way ;o) Hope everyone is having a great week! (someone asked me about the ornaments, in the other post, if you see one you like just email me at michelel@michelelynchart.com and I can send you a paypal invoice or answer any questions you have. The two grim reapers are sold.) xo Michele
No more peeks, here's the full montey! We have Liz a steampunk soul ornament with fake lashes, painted on hair and of course vintage watch parts! Poor Dan has been silenced with metal threads on his mouth, and vintage watch parts.
2 Grim reaper ornaments and what Halloween tree would be complete without a Pumpkin King, or....
Krampus! I personally think he looks better in person than in this photo. But I couldn't seem to get a good pic of him! All the ornaments are available tonight at midnight on Spooky Time Jingles or you can email me at michelel@michelelynchart.com
More fun things in the works! Have a great weekend everyone and I hope to see you tonight at Spooky Time Jingles! xo Michele
Got a toothache? No problem, instantaneous cure of cocaine! I'll bet there were some people who had a lot of toothaches!
How about this one lol! They actually sell the beer as nourishment for the baby!! I'm sure the young mother's did benefit from the beer!
and then there's this one from the Soda Pop Board of America, LOL! All we need to do is start giving our babies cola and they are guaranteed to to have a better chance of "fitting in" as a teenager!
What is really scary is I wonder how many people actually bought these products, because of these ads! Ah, the power of advertising! The next one is the best! I think I posted this one a while back, but it's always worth seeing again!
Just think, we don't have to spend all that money on gyms or equipment to loose weight, all we've needed all along is tape worms! Amazing!
Hope everyone is having a great week! I've got some new pieces in the works! Stay tuned ;o) xo Michele
I'm like most artists, I've been creating something for as long as I can remember. I have explored many types of media and love experimenting with new things. Mixed media seems to be where my heart belongs. I can combine my love of painting, sculpting, adding found object all into one. The Steampunk Soul series evolved after I took a job with a corporation--the Soul Sucker. I hope you enjoy my artwork! xo Michele
