The Dam Has Busted

It is so great to be free to art again, I can't even tell you all how wonderful it feels. A whole year imprisoned by the soul suckers! I've been art-ing like a mad woman, all that creativity that built up has burst free! All of these pendants are available on ebay, and many more. Remember the story I started a while back about the soul suckers? I've been working on those characters and they will make their debut soon...

French Bee, Rob Thomas & Thriller??

I have to start off by saying the I had the most fabulous time at the Rob Thomas concert at the Fox theater in St. Louis on Halloween!! The best. Most of you who follow the blog know my all time favorite band is Matchbox 20. I love Rob's voice and song writing! If you don't live in St. Louis and have never visited the Fox Theater it's one of the most beautiful theaters around. Built in 1929 it was reportedly the second largest theater in the United States.

The ornate interier is like nothing I have ever seen. After years of being closed the Fox theater was restored for 3 million dollars in 1982 it reopened as splendid as ever.

All of these photos curtosy of www.fabulousfox.com
You can find more photos under history at that link also!

Now on to the Rob Thomas concert! First I need to digress just a bit. To the girls that were on the mezzanine balcony that do not understand the meaning of rude...YES talking the whole time someone is playing music even if they are not the lead band is annoying. YES standing up in front of people that paid good money to sit is rude. YES texting through the whole concert is annoying and rude! YES running back and forth back and forth to the lobby during the show is RUDE! So the guy that yelled at you to sit down and you acted so shocked, believe it or not had a right to tell you to sit down! The world is not all about you princess. Okay...I feel so much better. They were not in front of us, actually next to us and it still surprises me how rude some people can be. Not caring for anyone but them selves...Okay really I'm letting it go lol. Rob Thomas opened his show in a Michael Jackson halloween costume singing thriller!!

Thank you to FairiesRreal91 for posting your video on you tube!

Yesterday I decided to watch "The Dutchess" a movie th
at for some reason I bought a while back and have never watched. I really enjoyed the movie and was reminded again how far us women have come. I really think she should have junk punched the husband like in What Happens in Vegas and said You KNOW why! LOL....okay getting off track again...so the movie inspired another Bee Paris Pendant...enjoy! Available on ebay tonight.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! xo Michele

New Work

Now that summer is coming to a close, I'm trying to get back into the groove. I know the busy season is coming and I should be preparing for it! But isn't it just so much nicer to sit on the deck, enjoying the setting sun, feeling the evenings starting to cool, sipping a glass of wine...the party will be over in a month when I'm crazy because I was slacking off right now LOL! Oh well. I work well under pressure!! Here are some new things I listed on ebay A bracelet and 3 rings!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!! xo Michele

Mud Festival

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July!! I thought I would get to blog about all of this on Sunday, but that day flew by too!! I'm tired so I'm going to keep this fairly short if I can!! Saturday we woke up to pouring rain, which of course canceled the parade for us. We decided to go to breakfast and fortunately the rain let up by the time we were leaving so we headed on over to the fair that our town puts on every year. There are carnival rides and games, inflatable kids things, a magic show, food, food and more food...did I mention fair food? LOL...this is what Michele likes...fair food...red beans and rice, jambalya, corn dogs, funnel cakes, fried oreos, those thin sliced potatoe chip things...okay I gotta stop before I faint from thinking of it all! Where was I? oh yeah and besides the fireworks what most people look forward to are the concerts! Earlier in the day one of our favorite local bands Trixie Delight was suppose to play. I'm not sure if they got to or not because that's when it was pouring. So after getting some snack food we scouted out a spot to sit and wait for Sister Hazel to come on stage...and of course it poured again. But we're not afraid of rain right? (I have pictures that my son took of Sister Hazel but he hasn't had time to upload them off his camera for me)

Sister Hazel was amazing...played right through the rain and this beautiful full arch rainbow appeared. The band was available after the concert for autographs and they took pictures with fans. I thought they were an awesome band :o)

After Sister Hazel the crowd was pumped for Gavin Degraw. The crowd had doubled I think by this time. We were close to the front so we were all really packed in there. The people that we had around us were fun and everyone was just having a really good time. I mean here we all were sitting in the mud, getting poured on several times but you have fair food and good music, what more could you want right? Degraw got to about the fourth song and it is really raining by this time again (but we're all so soaked none of it even makes a difference anymore) any way across the sky there is a flash of lightening :o( We all know what that means at an outdoor concert. Party is over. The city official shut the fair down for everyones safety. Gavin Degraw apologized which of course it was not his fault, you can't control the weather. All up concert goers picked up our soggy blankets, lawn chairs, coolers and what not and did the slip n slide through the mud back to our cars. Unfortunately there were not even any fireworks on the fourth for us because of that lightening (they didn't want the people there in danger who would come to see them). So that was my fourth of July LOL...and a fun time was had by all ;o)

Sorry I got this posted so late! I was waiting for the pictures and then I figured I'd better post it anyway and when I get the pics I'll just add them in another post! I also did add two items to ebay last night I just never got to the post ;o) Here they are:

The Queen Bee so reminds me of Marie Antoinette!! I think it's the way the wings are split that remind me of the old fashioned dresses. I'm not sure what it was lol, but I made sure this little bee was very french ;o) The earrings my youngest Zach found for me at an antique store! There was a pin and a necklace and he said, look mom you could make earrings out of these! and how right he was!! Hope you enjoy these and I'm hoping I can get everything back on track ;o) xo Michele

Bulldog & Bee

More pendants that were inspired from my recent finds! On ebay tonight at 8 pm central! xo Michele

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Well I've discovered from Luthien that I really need to go see Startrek if it's still here in theaters this weekend! Sheesh! I really wanted to go see it when it came out but no hubby and the little man talked me into seeing Wolverine. Which was okay but I would have rather seen Startrek. I was so addicted to the Next Generation back in the day lol. So since I can't do much more than hobble we will probably go to dinner and to a movie for our date night this weekend ;o) I'm really itching to go to some antique malls, flea markets, etc...so this foot had better heal soon! Oh and the pool!!! Today it didn't rain for ONCE and it's so hot and humid...perfect pool day!! Sigh. I've decided that we are going Friday if it doesn't rain. I can lay in a chair and read lol.

Okay so now for the artsy fartsy stuff. Big surprise, 2 new pendants lol. Love the fairy one....when I saw the metal base with what looks like vines wrapped all around it I thought it looked like perfect fairy-ness! The secret garden one was inspired by the little metal heart with the words secret garden stamped in it. I've had the tiny vintage crystal lock pin for some time, just waiting for the perfect place to put it. I love it with the secret garden theme! Both go on ebay tonight...same bat time, same bat channel (okay I'm dating myself now...that is from Batman when it was on tv when I was a kid after school). 8 pm central time! click here for the auctions and to see a lot more pics: EBAY

Have a great night everyone! I'm off to make dinner on one foot....you should try it some time LOL! xo Michele
