French Bee, Rob Thomas & Thriller??

I have to start off by saying the I had the most fabulous time at the Rob Thomas concert at the Fox theater in St. Louis on Halloween!! The best. Most of you who follow the blog know my all time favorite band is Matchbox 20. I love Rob's voice and song writing! If you don't live in St. Louis and have never visited the Fox Theater it's one of the most beautiful theaters around. Built in 1929 it was reportedly the second largest theater in the United States.

The ornate interier is like nothing I have ever seen. After years of being closed the Fox theater was restored for 3 million dollars in 1982 it reopened as splendid as ever.

All of these photos curtosy of www.fabulousfox.com
You can find more photos under history at that link also!

Now on to the Rob Thomas concert! First I need to digress just a bit. To the girls that were on the mezzanine balcony that do not understand the meaning of rude...YES talking the whole time someone is playing music even if they are not the lead band is annoying. YES standing up in front of people that paid good money to sit is rude. YES texting through the whole concert is annoying and rude! YES running back and forth back and forth to the lobby during the show is RUDE! So the guy that yelled at you to sit down and you acted so shocked, believe it or not had a right to tell you to sit down! The world is not all about you princess. Okay...I feel so much better. They were not in front of us, actually next to us and it still surprises me how rude some people can be. Not caring for anyone but them selves...Okay really I'm letting it go lol. Rob Thomas opened his show in a Michael Jackson halloween costume singing thriller!!

Thank you to FairiesRreal91 for posting your video on you tube!

Yesterday I decided to watch "The Dutchess" a movie th
at for some reason I bought a while back and have never watched. I really enjoyed the movie and was reminded again how far us women have come. I really think she should have junk punched the husband like in What Happens in Vegas and said You KNOW why! LOL....okay getting off track again...so the movie inspired another Bee Paris Pendant...enjoy! Available on ebay tonight.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! xo Michele

I think I've become the mad hatter!

The last post I put a teaser to the new Tim Burton version of Alice In Wonderland, which shows Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter (yum yum) this is what I think I have become totally mad!

Yesterday I was in a huge hurry because I needed to be at the hospital by 9 am for a ct scan on my chest (those of you who have been around awhile will remember that there was a lung cancer scare last year when they found scar tissue on my lung but of couse we didn't know that for months! so anyway they wanted to do a follow up a year later just to make sure nothing has changed. Okay now that you are all caught up with the story I'll go on lol) so I'm racing down the side road to the hospital, I get there at 9 on the dot which is no small feat, I sign in and wait to be registered. The young lady comes over and takes me to her cubical type of spot and has me answer all of the questions which she types into the computer. I give her the paper work that the doctor has mailed to me and she is very pleased that I have doctors orders. She get me all registered and then sends me down to radiology, when I sign in again and give her the other 2 copies of the docotors orders. I am told to have a seat in their waiting room now. After a few minutes the woman who checked me in calls out my name. I feel like I've won the lottery! Wooo Hoooo! Yay! That's Me!!! I'm going to get right in and right out of here and can get back on with the million other things I have going on!!! So I jump up and say yes! She says, Michele? I'm walking toward here...let's get this show on the road! Then she says, "Did you realize you are a month early?" WHAT??!!! That can't be!! I dig out my paper work and look at the date...No it says right here the 24th!! She says yes, dear the 24th of August! 8-24-09!!!!! ROFL!!! Yup I've totally lost my mind at this point!

I even said to you Luthien that I didn't know if my blog would be ready in time for the party! That's because I was thinking it was TODAY! I mean my dates are just really messed up at this point lol! Sheesh!! So I should be able to join the party NEXT Saturday!! YAY!!

Okay now for the good news! I managed in my madness to get two new items in my etsy store. I know that's not much lol! But it's a start right?? I have one more that I'll list tomorrow. Here are the two that are there now:

I'm going to try and catch up on some house cleaning today. We have also had a bathroom disaster where it's leaking water...we think from under the wax seal. That's not the bad part. The bad part is it's the 2nd floor bathroom so it leaked on the ceiling and the water was oozing out of the grout and one of the ceramic tiles cracked...are you beginning to see why I've become the mad hatter??? LOL Have a great Saturday everyone!! xo Michele

I'm Late, I'm Late....!!

I feel like the rabbit from Alice and Wonderland! Running around looking at my watch!! I've had another full day and just now finished loading up the three auctions to ebay!! Which I never do lol! They are always scheduled! Anyway, I know there's a few of you that I haven't even had a chance to email back yet today! No worries I haven't forgotten!! My husband actually even made dinner so that I could finish this up! He's a sweetie, right?! Okay so without any more blabbing on my part, here are the 3 pieces I put up for auction tonight on ebay:

All Marie Antoinette inspired! I'm really into this whole french Paris queen thing! Let me know what you think of the new pieces! I'm so sorry I have to run down a rabbit hole again, but I'm hungry and it's 8:33 and I still haven't had dinner yet! Maybe I'll run into the Mad Hatter and a teapot? xo Michele

Mud Festival

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July!! I thought I would get to blog about all of this on Sunday, but that day flew by too!! I'm tired so I'm going to keep this fairly short if I can!! Saturday we woke up to pouring rain, which of course canceled the parade for us. We decided to go to breakfast and fortunately the rain let up by the time we were leaving so we headed on over to the fair that our town puts on every year. There are carnival rides and games, inflatable kids things, a magic show, food, food and more food...did I mention fair food? LOL...this is what Michele likes...fair food...red beans and rice, jambalya, corn dogs, funnel cakes, fried oreos, those thin sliced potatoe chip things...okay I gotta stop before I faint from thinking of it all! Where was I? oh yeah and besides the fireworks what most people look forward to are the concerts! Earlier in the day one of our favorite local bands Trixie Delight was suppose to play. I'm not sure if they got to or not because that's when it was pouring. So after getting some snack food we scouted out a spot to sit and wait for Sister Hazel to come on stage...and of course it poured again. But we're not afraid of rain right? (I have pictures that my son took of Sister Hazel but he hasn't had time to upload them off his camera for me)

Sister Hazel was amazing...played right through the rain and this beautiful full arch rainbow appeared. The band was available after the concert for autographs and they took pictures with fans. I thought they were an awesome band :o)

After Sister Hazel the crowd was pumped for Gavin Degraw. The crowd had doubled I think by this time. We were close to the front so we were all really packed in there. The people that we had around us were fun and everyone was just having a really good time. I mean here we all were sitting in the mud, getting poured on several times but you have fair food and good music, what more could you want right? Degraw got to about the fourth song and it is really raining by this time again (but we're all so soaked none of it even makes a difference anymore) any way across the sky there is a flash of lightening :o( We all know what that means at an outdoor concert. Party is over. The city official shut the fair down for everyones safety. Gavin Degraw apologized which of course it was not his fault, you can't control the weather. All up concert goers picked up our soggy blankets, lawn chairs, coolers and what not and did the slip n slide through the mud back to our cars. Unfortunately there were not even any fireworks on the fourth for us because of that lightening (they didn't want the people there in danger who would come to see them). So that was my fourth of July LOL...and a fun time was had by all ;o)

Sorry I got this posted so late! I was waiting for the pictures and then I figured I'd better post it anyway and when I get the pics I'll just add them in another post! I also did add two items to ebay last night I just never got to the post ;o) Here they are:

The Queen Bee so reminds me of Marie Antoinette!! I think it's the way the wings are split that remind me of the old fashioned dresses. I'm not sure what it was lol, but I made sure this little bee was very french ;o) The earrings my youngest Zach found for me at an antique store! There was a pin and a necklace and he said, look mom you could make earrings out of these! and how right he was!! Hope you enjoy these and I'm hoping I can get everything back on track ;o) xo Michele
