New Work

Now that summer is coming to a close, I'm trying to get back into the groove. I know the busy season is coming and I should be preparing for it! But isn't it just so much nicer to sit on the deck, enjoying the setting sun, feeling the evenings starting to cool, sipping a glass of wine...the party will be over in a month when I'm crazy because I was slacking off right now LOL! Oh well. I work well under pressure!! Here are some new things I listed on ebay A bracelet and 3 rings!

The Queen Bee

New queen bee! Love how her bee body looks like a jeweled dress of royalty! She is available on either etsy or ebay once she's gone, she's gone....
Hope everyone had a great weekend! We stayed around the house this weekend and got some closets cleaned out and other chores we've been avoiding! Feels good to have it done!! xo Michele

Well we've made it through 2 days of middle school now unscathed! But we did forget the trombone at school today. Oh well, it's a little thing ;o) Hope everyone else's little ones are having great first days at school also!!

Tonight I have two new steampunk diva's to go on ebay. One I'm putting as a buy it now and that's the little angel. Her skirt is made up of a what I believe is real turquoise. It was an earring. I just love her!

The second is another ring. I'm having so much fun with these rings! This one reminds me of those little Japanese Dolls that you see everywhere now a days.

She is up for the regular 7 day auction and of course the auction still starts at the very low price of 19.00! Hope everyone has a great night! The days are getting shorter. I can feel summer coming to an end. BLAH! xo Michele

Start Of School & New Work!

My baby started middle school today! all the fretting over that yellow folder and would you believe I accidentally picked up a blue one without holes LOL!! Never fails! All in all it sounds like he had a pretty good day, except for the dreaded combination locks on the locker :oP He's still having a bit of trouble with his! It's amazing to me how fast they grow though, it seems like it was just yesterday that I was standing next to him at the bus stop waiting for the kindergarten bus to pick him up. sigh. Babies grow up fast.
I have two new pieces of art for ebay tonight. One is a 5 day auction and the other a 7 day.

I really love this pair of Marie Antoinette earrings! I used vintage beads that had those tiny connectors ...LOVE them!! Anyway, thank you Carol....they are from the package you sent me!!! Carol was so sweet to send me a whole goodie bag bursting with cha-cha's that made my mouth water! Thank you Carol you are a doll and more generous than words can say!! This pair will be available on ebay tonight at 8 pm central time. That's all I have for today...I've made up several other things for another project ;o) which I'll tell you about when or if it comes to light :o) Hope everyone has gotten their school supplies?? I heard the no tax weekend was crazy! I'm glad I did it before then! I still have to go rent the trombone though!!! Yikes!! Thank you Micki!! I spotted the envelope in the mailbox and thought, could it be from Micki?? I snatched it out and didn't even wait to get inside! I opened it right there! I should have done a really cool video blog about it right??? Heck no, I'm like a kid at Christmas, I just rip it open right there! Loved the red ribbon and the little tag :o))) This is my first blog win too, have I mentioned that??? LOL! I unwrap everything carefully and inside are the most precious postcards with envelopes! Thank you so much Micki! It's so very cool to be able to hold in my hands someones artwork that I have looked at online for a while now :o))) So again thank you, my friend! New Pendants & Supply Lists

I spent all day yesterday taking my youngest to middle school registration day. I can't even believe he starts middle school this year! We walked the schedule of classes to make sure he could find them all okay and also the dreaded locker combination. Those things are STILL a pain lol. But with a few tries we got it! Then we went to do the supply list shopping. This is something I dread! I love all teachers out there and have immense respect for you and your job...but PLEASE when you tell the entire 6th grade that they have to have purple, red, green, yellow, and blue plastic, 2 pocket folders with NO holes....please please make sure that target or walmart gets the memo! Nothing is more frustrating that running from store to store to store looking for that one obscure yellow folder! I won't even mention some of the other things on the list, but really??? I can always tell the teachers that have kids and the ones that don't lol. Okay well anyway, enough of that. I was too exhausted yesterday to even list anything! But today I have a couple of new pendants for ebay and I'm hoping to update etsy with a few more items this week too so stay tuned ;o)

Inspiration Avenue!

I just received word that I was accepted into the Etsy team Inspiration Avenue! Wooo Hooo! How exciting! My dear Luthien (if you haven't had a chance to check out her blog or etsy shop I suggest you do so! She does beautiful work!) is a member and who thought I would fit in with the rest of the group :o) I really look forward to getting to know everyone else better. I had a ball partying with everyone yesterday! and it was so great getting to read everyone's inspirations! I don't know about everyone else but I found myself nodding yes as I read the posts, going oh yeah that IS inspiring also! Or oh yeah that is totally inspiring ;o) and there seemed to be alot of common inspirations for all of us no matter what medium we work in...like color or texture! Nature. Books. Family. All food for an artist's soul!

I FINALLY got around to updating the blog a little bit! I added everyone's blog that I follow now as a favorite! and put a little thumbnail by their name. It shows the last 25 updated blogs :o) It wasn't even hard to do lol and I've been putting it off all this time! Afraid it was going to be a pain!!

5 Degrees Of Inspiration!

Wooooo Hoooo it's time to party!!! I was so worried I wasn't going to make it this morning because we went out to party last night! Again with the wine! There's a theme here LOL...and it's not even something that inspires me LOL! At any rate, I drug myself out of bed, grabbed my party hat and sparkly party shoes from the floor and am ready to go again! The 5 things that inspire me are:

1. Vintage Rhinestones!

I know that comes as a complete surprise right??? LOL! This is a pic I took of part of my work table the other day. Just seeing all those pieces laying all over the place like that, I love it! I usually start by just playing around with pieces, laying this one on top of that one, etc...

2. Clock Pieces!

Again you are not even a tiny bit surprised are you??! LOL! This is a picture of a one of the boxes I have with a collection of mainly wrist watches. Something about the different metals with all their different vintage patinas that I just love! and the thought that at one time (no pun intended there!) someone bought this watch all shinny and new and how proud of it were they?? There is something to be said about a piece's past. Same for the vintage jewelry that I repurpose. I love breathing new life into a piece of history, a part of someone else's life.

3. Marie Antoinette!

Yeah yeah I know...no shocker here! Love her extravagance! Love all the piles of fuffy-ness! The girl knew how to party!!

4. Art Books!

I started to take a picture of one of my bookcases but that really could have been shocking lol. I love books! Art books that are filled with yummy eye candy can usually inspire me like nothing else!

5. Music!

While I'm working, I'm always blasting out music from the computer. I love the Pandora radio stations that you can make! I love all types of music from the old 80's hair bands to Green Day, My Chemical Romance, and Pink (okay maybe that surpised you? lol) . Music can totally change my mood and inspire me!
